Digital TV- Less Than 6 Months Away.

The average Yankee household watches over eight hours of Television each day. Yes USA citizens love TV and studies show it isn't going to decelerate soonish. That's the day the FCC has stipulated that all broadcast Television stations stop sending out over the air analog signals. So what does this mean to me who's had the standard analog set for the last ten years? Or a number two or three analog Television set in other bits of my home. You first could be asking yourself - what's an analog Television set? And, have I got one? If you get Television programming from rabbit ears you've got an analog set. Analog Televisions Will Need further Hardware to get Over-the-air TV When the DTV Transition Ends. Buyers who depend on antennas ( including outside antennas and rabbit ears ) to get over-the-air broadcast signals on the telly sets having only analog tuners will have to get separate digital-to-analog set-top converter boxes* to look at over-the-air Television . These boxes receive digital signals and convert them into analog format for display on analog Televisions . TV sets have morphed from little screens with rabbit-ear antennas, to wall-sized flat screens. Naturally, this evolution of technology has caused some new issues.

Understanding the technology behind each option can make your call a bit easier.

Using this technology, television signals were sent and received in basic analog format. While analog TVs are the least pricey to buy and can offer decent quality, there are a few downsides. The most notable drawback to using the analog format is that the TV signals can accommodate a small amount of info for the screen and sound. Youll still be ready to use it, long after other formats rule the market. Analog sets connected to such converter boxes will display digital broadcasts, but not always in the full, original digital quality. S So what should I do? Get a new HDTV or keep my old analog Television set? This can all rely on your financial position. I strongly suggest you budget for a new HDTV set before that date if you do not already have one, it's going to be the best entertainment investment you may ever make.
